Provincial Bargaining Dates

Provincial Bargaining Dates established with the first meeting between OECTA and the employer side, which includes representatives from the government and the Ontario Catholic School Trustees’ Association (OCSTA), was held on September 5. This initial meeting set the “ground rules”, which establish how the two sides will engage with each other throughout the negotiation process. The following dates have been scheduled for this purpose: September 16, 23, 24.  Teacher collective agreements expired on August 31, 2014. However, under the School Boards Collective Bargaining Act, and the Ontario Labour Relations Act (OLRA), collective agreements will continue until amendments, if any, are achieved through the bargaining process. The bargaining process will be finalized once members have had the opportunity to vote on their collective agreements.
