There will be a major event Monday September 30th, at the U of T conference centre at 89 Chestnut Street (the old Colony Hotel, just north of City Hall) to meet and strategize around this crucial municipal election campaign.

An organization called The Reputation Institute is conducting a reputation study on behalf of the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan. The survey could be through email or by phone. In case you receive any inquiries from your membership, we have confirmed with the Pension Board that this survey of Plan members is legitimate. 

Provincial Bargaining Dates

Provincial Bargaining Dates established with the first meeting between OECTA and the employer side, which includes representatives from the government and the Ontario Catholic School Trustees’ Association (OCSTA), was held on September 5. This initial meeting set the “ground rules”, which establish how the two sides will engage with each other throughout the negotiation process. The following dates have been scheduled for this purpose: September 16, 23, 24.  Teacher collective agreements expired on August 31, 2014.

TSU makes grants for personal self-directed PD

The basic amount has now been increased to $200 per person per year.  Also TSU is repeating the (limited) accessibility of $500 grants and $1000 grants.
